Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the Fruit Salad Therapy Tapes subscriber chat. Also, this email was mostly written by a template Substack suggests you use when you set up a Chat function - see if you can work out which bits they wrote and which bits are by me!
The subscriber chat is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. My pants are too tight.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. Has anybody heard the new Nick Cave live album? Sydney Opera House sure does have great acoustic!
I always love hearing back from readers and seeing how my thoughts on comedy/art/creativity/stuff connects with your own lives and projects, and I’d love to find a way to expand that collaborative, conversational element between readers as well. Most of my interactions with you all are one-on-one conversations, and if you ever want to send me more in-depth thoughts and ideas that you wouldn’t want to share with the wider readership, you can always just reply to these emails directly and we can continue chatting between ourselves. But if you ever want to share thoughts with the wider community, and see what they have to say, then I’m going to start posting weekly prompts in the Chats thread to open up wider conversations around the themes I’m exploring! (This whole paragraph was just me, actually)
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ. Rock on, dudes!
